The Corten Christmas trees arrive in the natural grey finish and they will then rust over time. Left out in the elements it takes a few days to see them start to weather then up to 6 months to rust fully and seal. During the weathering period, it is recommended to keep the trees outside as the rust can transfer and may stain garments. To keep your mind at rest – all Corten trees are deburred meaning the edges are not sharp, so they are safe for children and pets.
What is pre-rusted treatment for the corten steel?
It takes long time to develop the stable rusty layer in nature. This can greatly affect the the using of the weathering steel, especially the dropping of rust liquid and the flying of floating rust at the beginning of bare using.
And pre-rusted treatment can help the corten steel to be weathered in a short time and the color also can be controlled.
